Solubility of power plant fly ashes in high-alkali environment
Kejík, Pavel ; Opravil, Tomáš (referee) ; Šoukal, František (advisor)
This work deals with study of alkali activated ashes from high-temperature and fluidized bed coal combustion in thirteen powerplants in Czech republic. A solution of 50% sodium hydroxide was used as an alkali activator in this case. Because the two main elements of these secondary raw materials are silica and aluminum, the main part of the work is study of their evolution to solution and dissolve time dependence. The second part is comparing of the phase composition of powerplant ashes before alkali activation and after that.
Possibilities of utilization of brick-grind-dust in alternative binding systems based on fluidized ash
Tušla, Václav ; Švec, Jiří (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis deals with usage of brick-grind-dust in alternative binding systems based on ashes of fluid combustion. Specifically it deals with fly ashes and softly milled bed ashes of brown coal combustion. Primarily thanks of content of free lime, anhydrite and other components, fluid ashes have binding properities. Brick-grind-dust arise in end formation of burned bricks. The aim of thesis is to verify, possibilities to create composite of appropriate abilities with high or even exclusive amount of fluid ashes and brick-grind-waste. The paper also deals with influence of some chemical modifying additive on this alternative systems.
The composites materials based on the solid residues of fluidized combustion
Kalina, Martin ; Koplík, Jan (referee) ; Opravil, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with a study of possible preparation of composite materials based on the solid residues of fluidized bed combustion. It focuses mainly on the strength properties of prepared materials and the phase composition of incurred hydration products. A powder X-ray diffraction analysis was used to determine the phase composition of prepared stiffened samples. Based on analysis of raw materials (fluid ash), various ingredients and additives were added to the mixtures in order to modify the composition or rheological properties of the fresh mixtures. After 28 days of maturation, the phase composition of prepared samples and the development of compressive and tensile strength in bending were monitored.
Utilization of some massive produced byproducts for preparation of geopolymer based binders and composites
Eckl, Ondřej ; Šoukal, František (referee) ; Havlica, Jaromír (advisor)
Preparation of geopolymer composites from industrial wastes of energy power stations and metalurgy.
